Dr. April Oliver, O.D.

Dr. April Oliver was born and raised in Mesquite, TX. She earned her Bachelor degree in Biology from the University of North Texas and graduated with honors. She later completed her Doctorate in Optometry at the University of Houston College of Optometry. During this time, she was honored with Letters of Excellence in Family Practice and the Nick Stoyan Memorial Grant for Orthokeratology.

While earning her doctorate, she also received extensive training by working at Berkeley Eye Center, Texas Eye Institute, Good Neighbor Clinic, Golden Eye Clinic in Center and Lehmann Eye Center in Nacogdoches.

Dr. Oliver enjoys participating in local charities, including See to Succeed and Klein ISD Vision Outreach Program, which provide free eye exams and glasses to hundreds of deserving children in the Houston

metroplex. She lectures to several local organizations on the importance of eye health. She also spends time with local Tomball ISD nurses and teaches them about common pediatric eye conditions so that they are able to detect them at a younger age.

While providing comprehensive eye care to patients, she is also certified in treating many ocular diseases, such as glaucoma and macular degeneration.

Her special interests include Dry Eye Syndrome, Lasik and Cataract surgery co management and specialty contact lens fittings (multifocal, prosthetic, keratoconus, and post surgical). She loves working with children of all ages and tries to make them as comfortable and at ease as possible during the exam. Finally, she enjoys taking the extra time to listen carefully to patients and also thoroughly explain findings in an easy to understand manner.

Dr. Oliver enjoys spending time with her husband, cooking, fishing, reading, painting, spending time outdoors, traveling and spending time with friends and family.
