Dr. Frank Lee, Doctor of Optometry
Today's Vision Missouri City

Dr. Frank F. Lee is an honors graduate of Florida's Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry in 1999. He had received his bachelor's degree in biology, with a minor in chemistry, at California State University, Sacramento.

During his course of studies at Nova Southeastern University, Dr. Lee was a four-year member of Beta Sigma Kappa, an optometric honor society serving as vice-president and treasurer during his tenure. He also served as the tutoring coordinator for the College of Optometry and organized instructional aide to students at risk. Additionally, he received the Alcon Excellence in contact lenses fitting award, gold-key leadership scholarship, as well as other academic scholarships.

Dr. Lee's optometric externship was completed at the West Palm Beach VA Hospital in West Palm Beach, Florida. During this externship, he received training in primary optometric care, pre-operative and post-operative management of glaucoma, cataracts, and laser retinal surgery. Dr. Lee also completed an externship in low vision rehabilitation at the Visual Health and Surgical Center of West Palm Beach, Florida.

Upon graduation, Dr. Lee completed a residency in hospital-based optometry where he received advanced training in emergent ocular care as well as management and treatment of Cataracts, Glaucoma, Macular Degeneration, and Diabetic Retinopathy at the Huntington VA Medical Center in Huntington, West Virginia. During his residency, Dr. Lee was also involved in mentoring students in primary optometric care.

Dr. Lee is one of a few optometrists in Houston that is certified to fit the Paragon CRT lenses (www.paragoncrt.com). These specialty contact lenses are able to correct distance vision for most near sighted patients without the need for glasses or contacts during the day. This correction is done while the patient is sleeping and is an alternative for patients who find contacts difficult to wear during the day due to dryness, allergies, and other irritations and find glasses to be a distraction to their visual lifestyle. After treatment, unlike traditional contacts, the patient will no longer have a need for glasses since there is no time during the day when the patient won't see well. This is the only procedure approved by the FDA for refractive therapy in children. Dr. Lee has had significant success treating children with progressive myopia with the goal of minimizing the changes that can occur during a child's development. Dr. Lee also specializes in the co-management of myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism using the excimer laser (LASIK). Dr. Lee works closely with Dr. Wade of the Eye Center of Texas to provide the most up to date type of laser treatment called Custom Lasik. Unlike traditional lasik that uses a one-size-fits-all algorithm during the laser procedure, Custom Lasik uses a mapping of the patient's own eye that is linked to the laser to mold and refine the cornea specific only to that patient's eyes. The end result is a much more accurate treatment with a higher probability of perfect vision. Dr. Lee practices full scope optometric care at his Today's Vision locations. His training has provided the expertise to perform routine eye exams, complicated contact lens fittings, as well as treat and diagnose most ocular diseases. He is residency trained to handle emergent red eyes or injuries and is available on call 24 hours / day. He is equally comfortable with children as well as senior adults.
