Dr. Gabriela Leche was raised in Plano, Texas and attended the University of Texas at Dallas earning her Bachelor’s degree in Biology. She continued her education and completed her Doctorate in Optometry at the University of Houston College of Optometry. Dr. Leche graduated Magma Cum Laude and as a member of Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society and a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. She also earned a Letter of Excellence in Family Practice and the award from Ocular Instruments for Excellence in Ocular Disease.
She completed rotations at the Eye Doctor’s Office and Eye Gallery as well as Cedar Springs Eye Clinic in Dallas, TX where she became confident in the treatment of various ocular diseases as well as specialty contact lens fitting. Dr. Leche was also able to lend her abilities through a mission trip to the indigenous people of Chihuahua, Mexico helping patients who would normally not be able to see an eye specialist.
Dr. Leche has an extensive scope license which allows her to prescribe oral medications as well as treating glaucoma. She enjoys managing medical eye diseases to make a positive difference in her patient’s lives, as well as fitting contact lenses to help maximize patient’s vision. Being fluent in Spanish, Dr. Leche is happy to see any patients who would rather communicate in Spanish.
On her free time, she enjoys watching hours and hours of television, eating delicious food, traveling to new places, and spending time with friends, family, and her dog, Mowgli.
